Ready-made maps for a one-shot: 30 places for tonight's session
A one-shot lives or dies on preparation time. These are thirty places you can open in seconds, grouped by the kind of adventure they suit.

In town: intrigue, brawls and heists
A tavern brawl is the classic opening; a market chase, a prison break or a heist in the library make a whole evening. Town maps have doors and furniture to fight around, and guards are never far away.
Underground: dungeons, crypts and caves
The one-shot favourite: a short dungeon with three or four rooms and a final chamber. Use fog of war so each room is revealed only when the heroes open the door.
On the road: ambushes and journeys
Outdoor maps are perfect for an ambush on the way somewhere: bandits on the forest road, trolls under the bridge, raiders on the beach. Terrain like water and trees does most of the work.
The finale: boss lairs
Save the big map for the last hour. A dragon's lair, a volcano or an arena give the final fight the room and the drama it needs.
